The mission of the Young Adult Ministry of Highpoint Baptist Church is to develop and enrich the spiritual lives of young adults by raising up a new generation of saints committed to a life of worship, with a passion to be a mature generation
who will be ambassadors of Christ to a fallen world, by cultivating our identity, molding our character, and defining our vision.
Our goal is to create an environment for young adults that will allow them to grow into Christian maturity by bridging the gap between the youth and senior ministries and be fully integrated in the delivery of ministry to the church and service to the community.
The Young Adult Ministry started in 2006 as a bible study group of members between the ages of 18 to 49 who shared their issues of life in which encouragement was given from other persons who had experienced the same issues which motivated the individuals to know that they are not alone in this walk of life. On the other hand, we have done activities such as bowling, hosted eating gatherings and supported one another where help may have been needed. We then formed a choir to express ourselves by praise and worship in which yokes were being broken and everyone was on fire and excited for Christ. By that we adopted the name “F.I.R.E.D. (Faithful Individuals Really Excited and Dedicated) for Christ.” Since our church’s method of bible study changed we have not continued with our own bible studies but we plan to evolve toward establishing a meeting time and resume our studies. We do have two Sunday school classes which are Exodus and Yahweh which both are set up for young adults. Since everyone does not have the gift of singing, we are hoping to expand our ministry to usher, or work the media and/or audio during service. Our age group has the largest percentage of members in the church but has the least active. Therefore, we challenge any young adult member of the church to get involved and become active member in one of these capacities and/or share ideas that can enhance our ministry as we share the word of God to a dying world. Feel free to contact Epeval Taylor, II, Min. Janice Austin or Rev. Sean Smith for any information you would like to know or offer to the Highpoint Baptist Church Young Adult Ministry.
